They are in my house. This is unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE. They must vacate immediately.
The Boogie woke at 4:00 a.m. throwing up. From 4-7 she threw up 14 times. By 7:00 she was so exhausted she just conked out on my chest. She woke up at 8:30 and threw up 3 more times in the next 45 minutes. I called her pediatrician (again; I had already called once) who calmed the first-time-Mama fears of dehydration and told me to keep giving her fluids, one teaspoonful every ten minutes. Did you know that the stomach will absorb a teaspoon of liquid in about a minute? So even if she threw up within a few minutes, as long as she had about a minute after sipping she was getting fluid in her system. I did not know that. I found a medicine syringe and started giving her diluted apple juice. I think that's what she needed to help her poor tummy to settle. Poor little thing. I know her stomach muscles were sore from all that effort because she was beginning to cry every time she threw up. Thankfully she only did one more time. She took another nap and woke up as happy as could be! Not much of an appetite yet but she did munch on some saltines. Praise the Lord -- I was dreading extended vomiting, especially since I practically had to pin her down each time. She would try to wriggle away from me. I wasn't able to do anything except sit right by her so I could catch her in time. I did finish a couple of short books! There's only so much PBS I can stand ...
My Man has tomorrow off, so it is a three-day weekend. We've been talking about what we wanted to do but never decided on anything for sure. Halfway through dinner he stopped eating and said he felt yucky. Pretty soon he was running for the bathroom. My poor Man. Honestly I'm thankful that if he must be sick it's tonight since he will have three days to recover. He's asleep on the couch and I think I will just leave him there.
I feel like I've been walking around with a bottle of 409 permanently attached to my hand. I must defeat the germs! They must not get me!
I will hopefully update tomorrow with news of the enemy's defeat.

Stand strong, Mama! Take no prisoners. :)
ugh... I am so sorry. That is the worst when they are that age. Have you ever heard of activated charcoal?? I have not tried it yet but supposedly it absorbs all the "bug" and you just poop it out. I puts my mind at rest just knowing I have something that might work. To bad it doesnt work with morning sickness..ugh.
I know how you feel. I felt really bad last week, but I'm thankful it didn't spread. Elyssia AND Garrison had it the winter before Caleb was born and it was NASTY! I felt really bad for them, but almost as bad for me cause I had to smell it and clean it up:( Thankfully Dena only had it for a short time. Elyssia had it for one day, then a fever that made her lethargic for another two days. We got pedialyte and gave her that every time she was thirsty for the next 3 days. It replaces a lot of the electrolytes that they lose when throwing up. Hope we don't have to go through that again for a looooong time.
Yuck, poor little tyke, sounds like what happened to Sam and Sean after Christmas. You might also try Gatorade for liquids, as it has the same electrolytes as the infinitely more expensive Pedialyte. Same thing for Eric. Hopefully it is only the 24-hour bug. I suppose I can't really blame you for not calling Sam back, then. :o) I hope you don't get it or don't currently get it.
hope everyone is healthy soon!
